How to Live Without a Cellphone
Yes. It is possible. I am 55 and have done it my whole life, and so can you.
I teach English at a boarding school, and one night while doing dorm duty, a student told me she would die if I made her turn in her technology for the night.
She did not die. I saw her the next morning, and she was very much alive.
At the tomb of St. Francis in the crypt below the Basillica of St. Francis, a monk sits in his cubicle scrolling on his phone. I saw three monks and a nun doing this. If Franciscan monks can’t avoid being distracted by their cell phones, who can?
All the guards in the Uffizi sitting in the corners of rooms with priceless art, are scrolling on their phones not looking at anyone. Grocery store checkers, construction workers, cops, all scrolling. What are they all looking at, and why do they get paid to scroll on their phone and not do their job? Why is no one present and everyone is always somewhere else?

He writes poetry. Reading his poems is way better than doom scrolling on your cell phone.
